Let counseling provide the building blocks for a long-term, connected relationship with your teen

Many parents come to me because they can’t get their teen to open up. They know a lot is going on inside that adolescent brain. But as to specifics, they have no clue. Their teen just doesn’t want to talk.

That’s where I come in. I’ve been counseling teens in San Diego since 2005, which includes three years I spent working with high-risk adolescents in the foster care system. You might think your teen would balk at the idea of talking with a therapist. But I actually have an unusual ability to get even the most resistant teens to open up.

And because of that, I’m also skilled at helping parents and teens connect. Through counseling, you and your teenager will learn to:

  • Talk openly without me in the room
  • Lay the foundation for long-term connected relationships as your teen grows into an adult
  • Have healthy, easy-going communication

I can also help you navigate some of the common problems that arise during adolescence—like pornography and issues with peers. This is particularly helpful if you aren’t sure how to handle a certain situation or are having trouble getting your teen to take ownership of his life choices.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call me today at (619) 298-8722 x134. You can also get in touch through the Contact Page. I meet with clients at three locations in San Diego: Mission Valley, Rancho Bernardo, and Carlsbad.

Don’t put off making this important call. Your teenager may act independently, but he or she needs connected relationships now more than ever.  All it takes is one call to start opening the lines of communication between the two of you.
